Richard’s journey began with hardship—losing both parents at the age of three. After being passed from one relative to another, he was finally taken in by his aunt and uncle, who raised him on a small farm in Western Washington, about 40 miles north of Seattle.
As a boy, Richard found magic in the night sky. He loved switching off the porch lights and staring up at the stars, planets, and what he believed were UFOs streaking across the darkness. He’d document these sightings in a journal, vividly imagining life beyond Earth and dreaming of one day exploring the Milky Way. Stargazing wasn’t just a hobby—it was his escape, his inspiration, and the seed of a lifelong fascination with science fiction.
A voracious reader, Richard devoured every sci-fi book in his small school library. His love of stories eventually led him into a career writing radio and television commercials, where he learned the power of storytelling wrapped around a message. Over two decades, his creativity and knack for weaving words consistently produced standout results. Some of his favorite ads—naturally—had a sci-fi twist.
After retiring from a successful career in marketing, Richard returned to a story he had started years before. That idea eventually became Time Stamping a novel that took three years to complete and reflects decades of imagination, wonder, and personal passion for the genre.
Today, Richard lives in Spokane Valley, Washington, with his wife. He is the proud father of two grown children and grandfather to three spirited grandchildren. When he’s not writing, you’ll still find him looking up at the stars—dreaming.
